People trust the health and well-being of their pets to their veterinarian. There are both large and small animal veterinarians and some veterinarians treat both. Regardless of the type of animal that a veterinarian treats, they need to have a variety of veterinarian equipment to do so.

In a normal day a veterinarian uses a variety of supplies and equipment in their practice. There are a number of smaller pieces of equipment such as a stethoscope, thermometer, otoscope and an opthalmoscope that they use for their routine physical exams. Most of these exams are performed either on an examination table or a lift scale. Sometimes for very small patients they will use a baby scale that can sit on a countertop.

The surgical suite also contains a variety of veterinarian equipment. No surgery can be done without a surgical table and a light source. Perhaps the most important piece of equipment in the surgical suite is the anesthesia machine. Some veterinarians may also have an ultrasound machine in their surgical suite. Most veterinarians also have an x-ray room which contains an x-ray table and machine. Some specialty practices may have an MRI machine as well.

The laboratory contains a wide range of veterinarian equipment such as a centrifuge, microscope and any number of machines that can run various blood tests. Clippers are used for a number of things in a veterinary clinic as well as nail trimmers and muzzles. Dental machines are another very important piece of equipment that most veterinary practices have. Some practices that do a lot of dental work even have dental x-ray machines. The reception area is a very important part of any vet clinic and they use equipment such as phones, computers and fax machines every day.

Regardless of what type of veterinarian you see, they would not be able to perform their jobs correctly without the use of a variety of equipment.
